What is Infant Massage?

Infant Massage is a loving art that is relaxing and beneficial to both parent and baby. It can provide a natural solution to your baby’s sleeping problems, colic, general unrest.

The benefits of infant massage are endless, both for baby and parents, and they are benefits that will last a lifetime.

Benefits for the parent:

  • Massaging baby will reduce stress levels
  • Enhance the production of feel good hormones (oxytocin, prolactine)
  • Help you to bond and communicate with baby
  • Help you identify and respond to baby’s cues and behavioural states. This can be especially supportive for a mother who is suffering from post natal depression.

Infant Massage Classes

Length of course: 4weeks
Sessions last for: approximately 1 hour
Baby age range: 4 weeks to 6 months

Parents are offered refreshments and a chance to chat with others.

Classes for dads

“Dads only” classes are a wonderful opportunity for fathers to come along with their baby and learn the skill of massage. All the benefits of giving and receiving massage are covered. The course promotes and supports dads in learning this caring art and helps baby to learn that massage is not only given by mum!
